The product is simple to install and use, allowing your guests and clients reliable, high speed internet access. The Link wired and wireless solutions are best suited for premises which have less than 50 rooms, allowing smaller accommodation operations to offer the same services as its larger competitors. As Vistagate offers both wired and wireless solutions, which solution is right for you? Most customers opt for both solutions, giving them the greatest flexibility in broadband provision within their premise. When considering your options, consider that the wired option is more consistent in its provision and speed of delivery. Wireless only solutions can prove problematic in larger premises where ‘dead spots’ are prevalent. For this reason, it is not suggested to install a wireless solution unless it covers the whole of the site.
WIRED SOLUTION
The wired network is a fixed cable solution for installation within a Cat5e or Cat6 structured cabling environment. This solution enables high speed broadband to be accessed in each room simply through plugging into the network cable provided.
This solution benefits from an interfaced billing platform which collaborates with your existing reservation and property management systems. Interfaced billing allows the guest to select a pricing plan and connect to the internet without having to contact management for a username and password. Internet charges will appear on the guest account with other guest and room charges, allowing one invoice to be produced.
Wireless ‘zero configuration’ access points can also be installed for specific areas, such as cafes or lobby areas, allowing wireless access from laptops, smart phones or PDA’s.
WIRELESS SOLUTION
The wireless option is a cost effective broadband solution suitable for the deployment in premises without existing structured cabling. A key difference between the wired and wireless solutions is the interface billing platform, which is not available with the wireless solution. This means that guests have to purchase a username and password from management or the front desk.
A simple 3 button printer is provided with the package which allows management to create usernames and passwords for their guests, based on hourly, daily or weekly charge rates, which is set by the premise itself. Wireless ‘zero configuration’ bridges can be supplied for guests who do not have wifi built into their laptops and must connect using the network cable.
