Richard Bourne

Richard has over 25 years information technology and business experience. He is also managing director and co-founder of Liverton Ltd, the company that developed Vistagate. He has a broad range of experience including:

  • Solution architectures/design/development (including hardware, applications, networks)
  • Project management
  • e-Commerce/Internet
  • Customer and technical support
  • Strategy and planning
  • Business requirements analysis and business case development.

Richard is recognised for his sound practical and technical knowledge and his ability to impart technical and business information succinctly at a range of levels. His professional experience covers operational, management and consulting services for small through large organisations covering information services and technology providers. He has worked in education, banking and finance, telecommunications and manufacturing industries.

Richard is the creator and developer of the inGOT Internet control and reporting system and lead the team which developed the Vistagate high-speed guest internet access facility for the hospitality industry. He holds qualifications in computer and electronic engineering and business studies. He is a member of InternetNZ, Wellington Business Cluster and the Novell Users International.

Shane Young

I have a project management and property background and commercial experience in both commercial and public sector services in both the UK and New Zealand. Having an interest in the use of technology is one of the reasons why I got together with Richard Bourne and James Scott as the founders of Vistagate.

Supported by wife Cathy and family through new challenges is lot of hard work and I am very excited to continue on the super highway to new product innovation and enabling people to do really cool stuff, particularly with the internet.
