Richard Bourne

Richard has over 25 years information technology and business experience. As managing director and co-founder of Liverton Ltd, the company that developed Vistagate, Richard brings a wealth of knowledge and technical experience that contributes to Vistagates prominent and evolving position in the marketplace, which include:
  • Solution architectures/design/development (including hardware, applications, networks)
  • Project management
  • e-Commerce/Internet
  • Customer and technical support
  • Strategy and planning
  • Business requirements analysis and business case development.

Richard is recognised for his sound practical and technical knowledge and his ability to impart technical and business information succinctly at a range of levels. His professional experience covers operational, management and consulting services for small to large organisations covering information services and technology providers. He has worked in education, banking and finance, telecommunications and manufacturing industries.

Richard is the creator and developer of the inGOT Internet control and reporting system and lead the team which developed the Vistagate high-speed guest internet access facility for the hospitality industry. He holds qualifications in computer and electronic engineering and business studies. He is a member of Internet NZ, Wellington Business Cluster and the Novell Users International.

Shane Young




Shane has a wealth of experience in project and property management, with commercial experience in both the public and private sector services in New Zealand and the UK, with specific roles including:
  • Project management.
  • Contract negotiation.
  • Business development and customer relationship.
  • Problem solving and resolution.
  • Encouraging innovation.

A common interest in the use and application of technology to further business productivity was the driving force that brought together Shane with Richard Bourne and James Scott as the founders of Vistagate. Shane’s desire is to enable and empower individuals and companies to utilise technological innovations, particularly in reference to the internet, to streamline their business operations, while at the same time, creating unique and innovative product and service categories that create the competitive edge in the industry, is his driving motivation.
