Vistagate is the evolution of 10 years of software development

In the beginning technical director Richard Bourne developed a method for universities and polytechnics to charge students for the amount of Internet they used. The product was called Ingot and was taken up by educational institutions in New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and the United Kingdom.

From licensing software for large educational institutions, the next step was to develop a solution that could be easily deployed in accommodation sites.

Clients have a choice of solutions such as prepay scratch cards, currently used in student accommodation, to hotel guests post-paying for their Internet usage upon leaving. Charging options for guests can be either traffic based (charging on a per Mb basis), time based (per hour, day or week) or a combination of both. A key component has been the development of an integrated billing solution. Vistagate has developed interfaces with all the leading PMS (property management systems).

It is important for any site to consider the most appropriate Internet plan and type of access. As guests are paying for the service it is essential to provide a service that meets their expectations. Vistagate will source Internet providers and/or advise on the optimal type of Internet plan.
